I am sure most of you agree . . . \u00a0this has been a long, cold winter.\u00a0 Not only are the temperatures frigid, there has been an unusual amount of snow.\u00a0\u00a0 One pretty snowstorm a year is about as much as I can enjoy.\u00a0 Thankfully, I am not the one who has to shovel it, and the Carolina sun usually melts the snow by the time I need to drive out of the neighborhood.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the freezing temperature is a different story.\u00a0 It has been extremely cold \u2013 so cold, neither my dog nor I want to take our daily three-mile walk \u2013 poor guy — he has cabin fever too!\u00a0 In addition, the winds are fierce and biting.\u00a0 As a result \u2013 this winter — I have spent a lot of time indoors.<\/p>\n
Does this sound familiar to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n Today is Ground Hog Day <\/strong>. . . and guess what <\/strong>. . . Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and predicts six more weeks of winter.\u00a0 Oh no!<\/strong>\u00a0 I was hoping for daffodils and crocuses in a week or two\u00a0 . . . maybe a t-shirt and capris by the end of February and a couple of warm days on the boat by the beginning of March.\u00a0 However \u2013 if we believe Punxsutawney Phil, it looks like that is not going to happen.<\/p>\n I don\u2019t know about you, but I\u2019m running out of creative things to do indoors.\u00a0 \u00a0I\u2019ve cleaned my closets. \u00a0I\u2019m bored of my exercise DVDs.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen a ton of movies, including Dunkirk, The Darkness Hour <\/em>and A Dog\u2019s Purpose.\u00a0 <\/em>I\u2019ve even watched Gone with the <\/em>Wind, Gettysburg, The Notebook, and<\/em> Devil\u2019s Advocate <\/em>for the umpteenth time.\u00a0 I\u2019ve read a few books and am about to start a new one:\u00a0 The Big Job <\/em>by Libby Kirsch.\u00a0 However, I\u2019m yearning for green grass, warm breezes and spring flowers.<\/p>\n Anyone else feel like this?<\/strong><\/p>\n As we all wait patiently for spring to arrive, can I ask you to list a few of your favorite movies and\/or books?<\/strong> \u00a0I\u2019m tired of twenty-four hour news, and I am open to your suggestions.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Thanks in advance \u2013 and let\u2019s all \u201chang in there\u201d \u2013 I know<\/em><\/strong> spring is just around the corner.
