I had the honor and privilege of being the guest author in Ali Faustino \u2018s eighth grade English class at The Brawley School in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Zoom Interviews from the comfort of your own home are a creative way to reach young writers!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Although I have done many television and radio interviews during my literary journey, this was my first zoom interview with teenagers. I was wonderfully surprised by their insightful questions<\/strong>. Not only did they inquire about how to write in general and how to tackle the arduous task of writing a novel, they also asked a few personal questions that brought back bittersweet memories of my childhood struggles <\/strong>with reading and writing. Their curiosity gave me the opportunity to share how I overcame my educational obstacles by pouring my thoughts into my journal and using a typewriter instead of a pen to bypass my dyslexia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking with these creative teenagers was a rewarding experience. My hope is that I inspired their wonderful young minds to try writing \u2014 not only as an outlet for their emotions and an exercise to enhance their ability but also as a potential path for their future.
